Abaasies
The “Abaasies” collection is a homage to the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Tuva shamans from the southern Siberian and Mongolian regions. Inspired by Tengrism, an ancient animistic religion centered on the deep connection between nature, spirits, and community, this collection brings the mystique of traditional ritual attire into the realm of contemporary fashion.

Reimagined Traditional
At the heart of “Abaasies” is the reinterpretation of the “deel”, a traditional Mongolian jacket characterized by its long, flowing sleeves and oversized shoulders. This garment, integral to shamanic rituals, becomes a canvas for exploring silhouettes that merge tradition with modernity. The oversized elements of the deel reflect the expansive spiritual presence of the shamans, while their structure lends itself to striking, contemporary outerwear.
Textural Innovation
Texture plays a pivotal role in the collection, echoing the tactile richness of shamanic attire. Linen fabrics are hand-painted with vertical lines, mimicking the fringes and material strips that adorn traditional garments. These lines are decorated with flattened golden sequins, evocative of the bronze mirrors worn by shamans as protective talismans. The result is a surface that shimmers with a quiet, reflective elegance, bridging the ceremonial with the modern. Being a fall-winter collection, the fabrics used are faux furs in cold shades or arctic grey and brown, warm wools and cottons with metallic threads, connecting the earth to the sky, the mundane to the supernatural.
Color Palette
The colors of the “Abaasies” collection are drawn directly from nature, mirroring the shamans’ connection to their surroundings. Deep blues represent spirituality and infinity, while earthy tones ground the collection in the physical world. Together, they create a harmonious palette that evokes the elemental forces central to Tengrism.
With “Abaasies”, ancient rituals are reimagined for the contemporary wardrobe, honoring the enduring spirit of the Tuva shamans while offering designs that are both meaningful and wearable.
